Description
Position Summary:The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within the Transplant Surgery service. This position provides a broad range of services to patient of the Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin (F&MCW) Transplant Service Line located in Milwaukee, WI. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.
Position Highlights:
- Robust Entry to Practice Program
- Rotational schedule to cover 24/7 staffing needs (A combination of days and nights)
- Teaching opportunities
- 20 bed TICU and coverage of Transplant patients in the inpatient ward
- Multi-disciplinary practice inclusive of procedures

Qualifications:
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience working within Transplant Surgery is preferred
- Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization. Acute care nurse practitioner preferred. Will consider FNP or adult care with 2 or more years' experience on Inpatient service or ICU.
- Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
- Advanced Practice Nurse/ Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner
- Wisconsin RN License
- Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
- Certification Requirements:
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) required within 6 months of start date
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- DEA registration
- Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization
- Acute care nurse practitioner preferred.
- Will consider FNP or adult care with 2 or more years' experience on Inpatient service or ICU.
- Acute care nurse practitioner preferred.
- Wisconsin RN License
- Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
- Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Certification Requirements:
